>>>Other Chap's comment earlier in the day about only one more penny to go to hit .30? Tell me he isn't working for a market maker. Tell me the price of this stock isn't being manipulated.

I think he's yanking your chain.

If his comments here can effect a fall in the price, perhaps you'd better chastise all those over at the Yahoo Psychic Network who keep making wild claims about news, mergers, etc., that fail to come true. That is just a detrimental to the stock value.<<<

Aye, BlueFox. But what if he's buddy with or doing the bidding of the market maker? For example, KNOWING the market maker won't raise the price could give him the confidence he needs to make his claims. Knowing where the market maker wants the price to be at the end of the day could also be a factor. Remember, OC said only one more penny to go.

Plus, it's certainly not unreasonable to assume that somebody, somewhere, somehow knows a market maker, and that this person in this day and age would have access to a computer and likely follows stocks. Intentionally.

It's been discussed before on this thread (I think Bob Frey once aptly described this, back in the 2000 numbers of this thread), how market makers manipulate public opinion in order to attain a certain result or to justify their pricing actions.

Sorry for all of my theories, but in the face of not knowing what's going on, or why strange things are happening--it's what you get. It's only natural.
