Nice little article on the rumored ATT-AOL offer:

"AOL spokeswoman Tricia Primrose wouldn't discuss the report published by London's Financial Times, saying, "We don't comment on market rumors or speculation." Hambrecht & Quist Internet analyst Paul Noglows, an AOL bull, agreed the report was speculative and said he hadn't heard any comment from the company either."

"wondered about the logic of such a move by AT&T -- "especially in light of a five-year network carriage deal AOL has with Worldcom (WCOM)." He added: "The people I've talked to are mystified. The only assets they see is that AT&T would gain a proprietary network and volume usage."
