Baird,

What Briefing said about the Russell 2000 'pop' is usually true. That is mostly because the stocks are typically thinly traded and move in price easily. That said, I think TDFX has so much volatility in it that you won't be able to tell when the funds are buying. Also, by now, every fund in the world expects TDFX to be in the index and are already buying it. Also when Briefing and Money mention the reshuffle, you can be pretty much the whole world of traders also know it an have likely already bought.

If you want to play for the pop, start looking about two months before the index is made up. One good way to play it is to look for recent IPOs that have done well enough to get a market cap over $300 million.

Of course funds buying TDFX stock won't hurt it in any way!
