James - While I realize that it is often true that news stories (and this is a reputable news article. See: nikkeibp.asiabiztech.com ) are done by reporters who don't really understand what is going on, it is also true that I don't buy the theory that the story must be false because the LSI threaders don't like it. In any case, there are other ways to confirm the Sega parts of the story: techweb.com Note that they specifically mention the fact that they have tailored the Hitachi RISC core (i.e. an ASIC and probably VLSI).
