Yes, I'm doing it as you say but just the irls are not getting updated..I can see each directory as it is being updated(real ms) and I see the one I have defined for irl's..looks like it is being updated but when I look in MS they are only updated thru 6/12..Which happens to be the end of last week..I've asked for daily updating..
Today I updated Qp2 from the internet site so I could run virtual but it wasn't working before the update either or my last irl date would have been yesterday..
Dick.

All,

define automatically updated metastock directories is not worth using. If you don't mind errors in your data then use it. If you want to take advatage of error correction to your historical data than don't use this feature...

Brookelise,
After hearing everyone say so many good things about Quotes Plus in Cleveland, I called the people and ordered a copy. It arrived last Monday and the installation when without incident. The problem comes with the virtual program.

I install the virtual program and make the profile for a directory called J:\META and everything seems to go just fine. I go into GET and select the J:\META as one of the source directories and GET seems to scan and find all of the files in the directory. The problem comes when I select one of the files to view in GET, a screen comes up saying No Data and the computer just hangs.

I am using a 233 mH Pentium II running Windows 95. No other programs are running at the time. I called the technical support people and was given the answer that I just hate, " it is a beta program so do not use it". Do you have any suggestions as to what I might do to get the program running? When I made the profile, I selected the .lst file that included all files and indexes (something over 12,000 if I recall correctly). Could it be that QP virtual has a limit as to the number of files that it will support? I have 128 mB of installed RAM on the computer and something like 700 mB of free space on the drive containing Windows 95 and QP+.

I am in the process of reading through the message base here on SI to see if I can find a solution, but I have over 2000 messages to go.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
