Alan, Bulls + Bears does = 75.4%, but the number contrarians like to focus on is the percentage of bulls divided by the total number of bulls + bears. So, 42.1/(42.1 + 33.3) = 55.8. One could look at the bulls and bears alone for an indication of sentiment, but some contrarians like to throw out the remaining 24.6%(100% - 75.4%), the correction crowd .
