Well I think someone bought Harris.. but that isn't the point is it.

I'm not saying someone WILL but NSM, just that at depressed stock prices they look much better.. you also have to remember that these days are different than the "good old days". Mergers and acuqisitions are all the rage in todays economy.

Intersil - Bought by GE then sold to Harris (?)

Harris - Still Running
Monolithic Memories - bought by AMD

Where did you hear about National being a sweat shop? Is it your personal experience or just a rumor? I have worked here for almost a year and never get a feeling that I work in a sweat shop. In fact, my friends in other silicon valley companies such as IBM, Solectron, etc., work longer hours. I haven't been happy with my stock options becoming worthless, but at least I got better signing bonus and salary offer from National compared to other companies I interviewed with.
