Dear Gary,
Strange but true: Early one morning I was on the way to the Farmer's
Market ( PA has many ) when my auto suddenly stalled, and would
not restart. Went through the ritual of popping the hood and staring
at the motor for awhile, alas there was nothing with a post-it that said
" I am broken ", so went back to sitting and willing the problem to fix itself with absolutely no success. This dude drove by and asked
what the problem was and offered his own conclusions, his theory
sounded logical, so off we went to the part store. While he was kind enough to drive me back and forth I thanked him and began
replacing said part, a tad greasy but exited that I was able to put on
a new gas pump, hopped in the auto and nothing not even a whirr.
Resumed the position of staring at the motor and noticed that two
other autos had stalled as well. Well, another dude drove by and
offered his insight, sounded logical, so off we went to the part store.
While he was kind enough to drive me back and forth I thanked him
and had him replace the part (lolololo). Less greasy but excited that
he was able to replace something, hopped in the auto and nothing,
even less of a whirr, silence can be deafening. At this point decided
to use the old ignore it technique of auto repair, pulled out a pen put
my feet out the window and proceeded to attack a crossword puzzle, waited a bit, and lo the engine started on first attempt. Until the day I
day I die will be convinced that I had driven through an Alien vortex,
they come they go. ,,,, DP
P.S. Was happy to have new auto parts as they made future driving
that much more pleasurable.
