The Bassett Hound watched with very little interest as an ambulance full of a cast of characters stopped at the nearby McDonald's parking lot. All but one of the seedy bunch got out and disbursed in different directions.

The Elvis impersonator left the scene strumming his guitar and singing to several nurses. They were all mesmerized. They looked like little ducklings following their mommy.

The rude lurker, who we know is a TED impersonator, limped away on his broken leg, the cast accentuating the limp. He jumped on a Harley that was parked there, hot wired it, and roared away.

The ambulance driver got out. Hey, wait a minute ... it's Norma! How did she get here? That's not a cab. What if her driver's license doesn't include ambulance driving?

Muffy, still in the back of the ambulance, sat quietly chewing on the cactus blossoms, waiting patiently for somebody to answer the call she had placed on Jeff's cell phone.

Jeff was not making any friends as he stood in line at the drive-thru window. The drivers behind him in line honked impatiently.
