Maurice,

Meanwhile, Tarken says just go with everything Microsoft that way no conflicts, all will work and be fine.

See. Is this not a modern monopoly? That company owns an operating system that can bug other competitors' softwares. And the competitor's software got blamed for it. Some can call these tactics a competition. I will call it a "show off" of the company's monopolistic power.

I encountered the same problems you have experienced. And decided to go with Microsoft products all the way to save the hassles. I felt powerless as a customer although I like its competitors' products. Plus, I have a fair amount of knowledge on computers and related products. One can imagine how powerless a novice will be to sit in front of a new computer! No wonder Microsoft stock price never goes down.

Can we apply the above example on QCOM vs. ERICY and the likes (GSM)? Luckily GSM world can not bug out QCOM's invention (softwares). But they can exclude CDMA out of the GSM world (at least in Europe)! QCOM can always go to court to fight it (to get its foot in Europe if GSM world governements' laws allow or to defend its IPRs if any in US courts).

In an ideological world, free market economy works if every individual, company, and country follows the rules (who to decide the rules is another question!). However it sucks in real world.

End rant.
