Hi Earlie,

Yesterday spoke volumes. Dow up big (on pure stupidity), yet MU
down. I wonder why. (g)

Nothing but sell off before earnings. Don't know which way MU
will go after earnings. But usually if there was a strong sell off just
before E, stock goes up much higher even with poor earnings and
vice ver.sa. Just my observation.

Good to hear from you.

later,

InSook Prasad

Earlie, IMHO Kurlak is "the best there is" at throwing the punch that starts the bar brawl and then slipping out the side door <g>

Yeah, funny, the 2nd hand reports from Tuesday are that he is hinting that people may want to consider buying, but when the bell rings the next day what happens?

The big guys bail in droves.

His cult of personality refuses to acknowledge that he's nothing more than the most aggressive, most top-down, loudest analyst with the largest salesforce in what is probably the the easiest sector of tech to cover. And for that - he's God.

The fact that this sector has the biggest bunch of flat-out sub-par thinkers at some of the more prominent firms (especially the 2nd-tier IPO shops out on the West Cost) makes him look all the better.

Somebody must be whispering in their ears (g)

Exactly. These schmucks haven't figured out that thinking on one's own without the company's permission is not only good - it's essential. Actually, no. It probably hinders their "careers" - one part secretaries (adept at dictation and recitation) and one part public relations (adept at putting "the company spin" on what is presented as "the truth", but cleverly avoids THE TRUTH).

It's not that a lot these people have nothing between their ears; it's what lacking a little further down that's really the problem.

Good trading,

Tom

Hi Earlie, nice to see you posting ... BTW the Boise slime whispered in Dan Niles' ear and he's saying that not only is DRAM selling below MU's all-in costs, it's lower than their cost of manufacturing ... i.e. negative gross margin .... ouch!!

'hey, it's only an inventory correction'

regards, Mike

Earlie, <<The semi industry stocks will continue to slide southward until the basic problem is remedied. None of them will make any money until a bunch of them go bankrupt. The industry will continue to produce far too much product for the foreseeable future.

Any ideas on who will not make it other than MU.<ggg>
