Well, so much for the Ascend rally (so far). The idiots are really trying to keep it down. Trading at $49 3/4 or so currently. Wonder if all those people that bought yesterday after the close are just stupid or prescient and patient.

Ahh, the beauty of the stock swap. There is only one thing I can guarantee with certainty; whoever buys ASND will not be paying in cash.

This is a good point. But anyone who buys COMS, NN, ASND, etc. will be looking at the long term viability of their company. An article posted a few back on this thread, noted ERICY had just $150M in sales of data networking gear, out of the the total $21B. A purchase of a large US datacom company gives them instant presence in the US, and makes them a player in the datacom arena. A COMS purchase gives them a broader product portfolio but an ASND purchase gives them an instant leadership position in two key product areas.
