3DNow pushes it right up against the pentium II where Intel says it counts, the Gaming power of the FPU. This is yet another thorn in the side of Intel.
Will AMD make money? Based on what I'm hearing they could well return to profitablity in the 3rd quarter. Not this quarter because of weakness in Asia for the other AMD products. The K6 may not be the drag on earnings in the 2nd quarter that everyone thinks it will be.

Thanks for the comments. It should be interesting. My concern as an Intel investor is things will get worse for Intel, Cyrix and AMD as AMD, Cyrix increase production of faster chips. Especially considering the low end PC's are sufficient to run the latest software. It doesn't look particularly good for anyone.
