<Why would they use the term "intelligent agent" on their web page if it is not? I think I have to dig into this more and maybe talk to the company directly. Let's see what I can find out.> I doubt the word agent is trade marked. We'll probably see a lot of variations on the agent theme. I don't think James Bond is related to GMGC either, but you are right to question it. They do seem to be bringing together related issues; Speech Rec, text to speech, and what may be an easy user interface using personality. Based on what they said in their web message, there is still a lot of work to be done. I wonder without actually seeing the product if it's like the 7th Level? I actually like the fact that Portico is not graphic. In fact, it requires no computer resource at all. It is simply an amazing and timely tool to increase productivity using the telephone. It will hopefully branch out from there to go on to palm computers, but for now they have a way to make money today on today's technology. If nothing else, I see it as a great way to solve the problem of hands free phone use while driving the car, which is a big issue in some countries as too many people are getting killed trying to dial numbers while driving. Then, if they can go on to define a voice based browser that would be a unique offering. Getting the content refined to a usable standard will be a task. I can do a search on Yahoo today and get 25,000 responses. As hard as that maybe to use in a readable format, I find the idea of listening to a robot speak out the search results really hard to imagine. This will require some changes in todays standards. Perhaps agents can come to the rescue. There are literally hundreds of projects going on all over the world to make this possible. Anyway, I hope we can get Portico focused on valued services that can be of immediate use. This will lead to a market presence, and revenue stream, that will provide a base for GMGC to build on. That is simply enough to make Portico a revolutionary product and GMGC a terribly good investment (IMHO). Regards, Mark
