I was in the CompUSA store in Orlando today, and I have to say that their Apple store is SAD.

They did not have a single G3 laptop. The fastest Apple laptop was a 1400c/166. Ancient technology.

When I asked the salesperson about a G3 laptop, he said they could order one. Big deal. I can order from PC Connection at a lower price, get it the next business day by 10:30 AM, and not have a sales tax.

Furthermore, while the store had tons of Adobe Photoshop 5.0 for Windows, it had one copy of Adobe Photoshop, and it was an old version.

CPU doesn't get it when it comes to Apple. Graphics designers use Photoshop, and the majority of them use the Macintosh.

Further, the selection of Windows based laptops was lousy. The little Computer City Express in Melbourne has a much wider selection (except for Macintosh, which it no longer carries.)

Maybe the Orlando store is a poor performer for CPU. But if it is indicative of the rest of the company, CPU is going to suffer for a long time to come.
