For Stagg Engineering to put their reputation on the line, the conclusions drawn will be done so with field observations and measurements. And from this information, stike/slip of bedding planes they will submit their findings. You see, geology is still done "the old fashioned way"....on foot.

And for "ariel" conclusions (hypothesis), geologists use land sat images...not the local heliocopter rental station. This would not be the best course of action taken by Stagg Engineering because the coal is most likely deposited BENEATH the surface.
