Hi Judy,..Re:<< cautious on IBM >>

FWIW, anecdotal evidence suggest that IBM is making core changes which are escaping analysts attention. While DEC and HWP are slugging it out in the service market, IBM is apparently quietly altering past practice of being 'all things to all customers'. Instead, I am told, they now bring in 'business partners' which can be contracted independently for specific solutions.

This implies two things to me, one - IBM is tired of getting dinged for free consulting for large customers and two - they seem to be adopting the more fluid management of specific services by doing what Dell does. Maybe this is an isolated instance but if it isn't, then they may be evolving to future more flexible solutions. Which after all could only benefit bottom line numbers.

Regards,

Lee

Judy - IBM was downgraded by Sachs from priorrity list, in my opinion the earnings should beat the skeptics. I am watching for the signals you have highlighted, I think IBM goes back up and test that old high. Lets watch closely. It is lower today down three testing intraday low of 108 and may be it can see as low as 1051/8th but anyway this is going to be a good stock.
