I'll never pay $3k for a pc. I'm using a retired
K5-133, my proxy server. I figured if a 100
mhz DOS 486 at work can do voice mail for 200, NT 4.0
should be able to handle a home office and the
family. I want to be able to check the voicemail
from the net, a short coming of the system at work.

I never figured the state of the software would be
so poor. It's not like voice modems are bleeding edge
technology. The last package I tried, from Symantec,
crashed on importing a wav file made with the MS sound
recorder. How standard can you get? It imported
perfectly a wav file I ripped from a Byrds CD.

It just goes to show that the damn GUI can't make
up for shoddy programming.
