I think it is true to say that your WaveAccount is your WaveAccount, regardless of whence you tap it.

You can use a WaveAccount right now in the download superstore environment of the Great Stuff Network. The WaveMeter is emulated on the server side. You have to be online to use this web-based version of the Wave solution.

Soon you will be able to use a WaveAccount in the distributed metering environment that will be established by proliferation of the chip-based Wave solution by IBM, SMSC, Hauppauge, et al. The WaveMeter actually will reside in your desktop, notebook, peripheral device, expansion card, or -- eventually -- set-top box. You need not be online to use this distributed version of the Wave solution (unless that is whence the content streams). If the content is on physical media, then your WaveMeter can address directly the SMO wrapper that envelops the content.

Try establishing a WaveAccount at:

zeus.wavesys.com.

Then try tapping it to leave a tip for the webmaster at:

sprague.com.

Or buy a piece of something at the Great Stuff Network. I have found that it works quite well.

Best wishes.
