Bill, "Sure would like to see TDFX combine with S3, then there would be a convergence of technologies..."

We all would like to see some good signs. Unfortunately they will be slow in coming.

Here is a link I haven't looked at for a while. It is PC World's top 10 graphics boards. Used to be S3 had a least 6 out of ten. Now the are down to just two:...........http://www.pcworld.com/cgi-bin/interactive/tab.pl?file=/1606/1606p261-1.txt&col1_span_all=on&ad=include_hw_desktops_edit.html&end_note=on&nobr=2,6,9&diagnostics=on&body_bg_color=ffffff&title_text=Top+10+Graphics+Boards

Is it Christmas yet?

Bill,

The graphics biz really does suck right now...

Speaking of sucking... i heard a rumor that the lawsuit is doing
damage to nvidia. Looks like that is about all S3 has to compete
with is a bunch of patents and a team of laywers. I guess you
could play the gamble that if S3 is successful with nvidia suit,
next would most likely be Intel (but that could be real
costly battle). Also a win for S3 would then mean CRUS would
enter the game. Turns out crus kept a bunch of patents in
addition to the ones S3 bought and is waiting to see the
outcome of the S3/nvidia suit.

What a mess.... i think i'll stick with lsi and avoid all this
crap....

Good luck,
Sid
