Jim: Profitability decides downsizing. That clip on force reductions
was the strongest indicator that margins are under pressure. In view of that what in your opinion is the principal factor moving the stock.?

a:New Chipsets and increasing Revenue b:Take over Speculation

Till I read the report on force reduction , I believed it was a. However it is unlikely that a Company with new Technology would resort to LayOffs.

If the money mangers are looking 6 months out...then the picture is bleak...because this company is in a transition period...and revenues are going to be significantly down...earnings are going to be down...and so is the stock price...downsizing maybe a positive...but overall it has a negative impact...because it is a clear indication company is trying to cut costs by employee salaries which is usually a last resort most of the time....The products that VLSI is selling must not be doing well.....cut costs.....means lower revenues...lower earnings....pressure will be put on this stock...
