The whole thing sure sounds like an admission that Slot 1 is too darned expensive for Sub $1000, Which is what we've been trying to beat into the heads of the Intelabees for a long time.
According to Paul, the slot one Medocino will come first and the new whiz-bang socket 470 or whatever will come later. I guess Intel wants to keep slot one on the Celery long enough to sell 'em all to the suckers. Sure sounds like Intel wants to participate on the low end and suck themselves right into the 'ole black hole. <G>
Talk about leaving their loyal customers like Hewlett Packard in the Lurch. If I was HP I'd have a fire sale on the Celeron systems and slip in a K6 or MII system at least until I saw the Mendocino on socket 470.
