Sean:

You just wrote: "no autoupdate will occur automatically without interaction from the user. You have discovered another problem with the update. It seems to crash a bunch. yet another reason to avoid using that function..."

I'm more confused than ever with all this. I thought I had a "virtual" Metastock file by installing virtual in the first place. What do I do about this?

Ken

HI Ken,

I have to disagree with Sean on the auto update point. The reason is I have several of that type of directory that I auto-updates daily. They work flawlessly for me. The key is that they be properly defined in your auto update path. And that you don't have MetaStock open at the time locking out Q+'s update function.

This is how they are defined. "d:\equis\mswin\composit"

The define feature adds the amount of vol automaticly
