Why does bad news hit AFTER the market closes, when investors can't react? The timing of these news announcements makes me angry. Why is it done that way?

Jeff, the news released today shows how close IOM is to Chapter 11.
It's one thing to transition the company into the OEM business, its another thing to screw up their credit and deepen the negative cash flow. IOM is in real trouble. It must be great to be the creator of a new industry drive standard and go "bust" in the process. Here's to IOM great management team!!!
