Truth is you can never find out how many puts are written by folks who are short or calls written by folks who are long. Can you demonstrate that the majority are covered writes? I don't think you can.

Again you are simply generalizing and ignoring the whole attraction of options in the first place: LEVERAGE. This is something you simply cannot get owning or shorting stock to the same extent.

If it is something you don't want to do, fine.

I don't regard you as any more expert on the subject than others.

It's a market, man. The buyer is at no more disadvantage than the seller unless one or the other has access to the floor or special information on the stock.

Sorry, but everything is not a conspiracy -- just because you didn't make any money on it.
