Hi again Sg,

>>>Did you ever check what price difference is between FTTH or even FTMD compared to VDSL????

You are asking the ignorant here. All I know is the SAP Mafia paid money to take apart the sidewalks, dig, install pipes, and put the sidewalks all back together again. Then DT rolls up and starts threading cables.

>>>Well the difference if high enough to give VDSL a good change. a very good change. especially in the countries, that are able to provide a lot of customers with FTTB/FTTC and VDSL or VDSL from CO.

Would you please excuse me. I do not understand what you are trying to tell me here.

I have been thinking about what Savolainen posted up the other day regarding "90% of DT customers being within 500 Meters of the CO". I have a feeling that when the distance to the CO decreases the expense difference between Fiber and VDSL become more and more inline with each other. It would be interesting for me to know what it costs per MB/meter between the two?

Now don't get me wrong. I am not trying to poo-poo the interest of ADSL/VDSL in the place of Fiber. I have the feeling it is on the orders of magnitude cheaper to go the DSL route when sending bits down the line.

SAP is an exceptional case though. Money seems to be no object here.
