Let me ask a serious question. They said that zip sales are up 5% over last qt. so far. zip sales have increased, they will cut 50mil. over the next 2 qts.. Question(and i know what you are going to say about they have to make money and thats the key)BUT do you not agree that iom's whole problem is that they just need to reduce costs? With the cpq, ibm, etc. deals this should increase zip sales (at a lower margin) but knowing this up front and still working on the possible increase in the retail side....all they would have to do is cut costs. Its not as if they are saying that zips are not growing, just not in the higher margin places (compusa, computer city etc)...add the click and other products (jaz, buz)...and without any more f... ups...its just a matter of cutting costs.....sales are still growing (not much)but growing and with the summer with cpq's, and then christmas it seems that if they cut 50mil. they should come out ok? this is why i think the street may view positive, it is up to iom internal to make or break. not as if the competition is all around them killing there zip sales as some have said.
