Mark, I might add that FORE could be taken over. There was a rumor that Intel was interested in FORE. FORE seems to be doing good this year. I am not sure how complete of a product line they have. They have some ATM stuff that competes with ASCEND. If memory serves me right, FORE won a contract with LEVEL 3 or 1 (??) that ASCEND was competing for.

COMS and ASSND both have mkt caps of about 10 billion. After these two you drop down to smallers companies with mkt caps of about 1 billion.

I think that COMS really screwed itself when they bought USR. However, if DSL takes off, I would suspect that USR would lead the consumer market in DSL sales if the DSL modems are sold retail.
