Jim,
I disagree. In the short term, steel demand could be down significantly which will cause a ripple effect. With so much of GM now affected, if they don't get over it quick, the steel industry will start to see it.

The other side of it is how much recycled steel a GM uses vs. new. Also, how much GM's steel suppliers sould try to replace GM auto steel with other products that could affect RECY's customers, although I doubt suc a changeover is practical.

I think most would discount any reduction and affect as a one time event when it comes to stock price, although there could be a minor impact. There might also be a rebound affect as GM works to crank it all back up again. The long term view is unchanged.

BTW - I can't figure strikers. 90% of the time, they lose in the long run, 100% in the short run. Takes a long time to make up lost wages. Only the union leaders ego's are aided. Of course, Just MHO.
