Impact of multiplayer on 3DFX....

I had not really thought this out before you mentioned it....

>It could very well be that the multiplayer revolution/evolution is creating some life in that part of the traditional technology adoption curve that, earlier, I argued did not exist for entertainment goods -- the late majority/skeptics segment. Now, there's material inventive to "keep up with the Joneses" bringing otherwise-reluctant consumers into the technology fold.

Sure, I have Unreal..great game, got the Quake 2 mission pack "The Reckening"...also great game, but haven't spent hardly any time on either, because when I need a break from research, reading, analysis,(I trade/invest fulltime from home) there is only one thing I usually want...a fast, loud, bloody, demanding on-line multiplayer game of CTF or Deathmatch! Very relaxing! ...and you absolutely_MUST_have a 3DFX card...or "they" will eat your lunch. Nothing else even comes close. This is an entirely new form of computer recreation (some would say sport) that didn't even exist a couple of years ago! Could just be the "killer app" for 3D cards! And by the way...I'm no "kid"...I'm 41.

Regards,

David
