Counterpunch in the dark

Thank you for your apology. It is gratefully accepted. We will return your necktie to you after the close of the market today. What I like about this thread is its civility.

I must admit that I do not hold much stock in labels. Liberal, conservative, libertarian, Republican etc. etc. The practice of labeling people is called identity politics.

Having been involved somewhat in politics I've noticed that behind the label you will find some interesting things.

I was once at a fund raiser for a local candidate who was perceived as being not conservative enough for those pinning that label. Attending the fund raiser was a self identified Last American (John Wayne mold). So what was he doing there? Well it was very clear that the candidate holding the fund raiser was going to be overwhelmingly reelected. That's politics in America.

Bill Clinton is coming to my town in July for a fund raiser. I expect everyone short of Al D'Amato to be there.
