If it wasn't for the Intc, Msft, Csco, i doubt that you and i be talking right now about Amzn. Amzn is, well, i guess we could look at it as a by-product of those three as well as all netzens. Mark, I agree! Commerce and advertising is going to be huge on the internet Glenn. Going forward it will really begin to take off. No doubt about it. I could not agree more. The problem is AMZN will not remain a major player. Too focused on the stock price and not on the business at hand. It is still my opinion there is not enough retail experience in the AMZN management. There is a lt of retail experience in many of the still smaller etailers. They may have started later, but give them time to capture that new huge market share.I was studying my chart on Amzn. After the sell off it looks like it will form a new base at (58 or 60 correction). Who knows it could hammer down hard to 40, then gradually back to form that base. Look at the chart on Xcit, see what happen there. I must admit I do not know. TA is not my specialty and I doubt real fundamentals will take time to kick in. They will at some point and we have a $10 stock. Then to nothing. The name will likely be bought by an experienced retailer at that point. I believe i often come across as very critical of the management at Amazon. I believe some compliments are due. They are one of the best, if not the best, in promoting their business. Not the operations of it but the way they announce a new product or advertise their current product. They also are excellent in finding ways to raise money and instill confidence in the investing community. Not an easy task. Too much emphasis is placed on "brand recognition." They sell a commodity product and brand has nothing to do with it. A good example is the way Walmart became the largest "discount" retailer and surpassed Kmart which was king of the hill for many years. Kmart use to be SS Kresgie (sp) all located in downtown shopping areas. They were the first to learn shopping was moving to the suburbs. They opened Kmarts and closed the Kresgies. Kmart then becam complacent. No focus on customer service such as someone to help the shopper locate an item. There is no lyalty in the retail business. Walmart's first focus was this service and they were sell the same products as Kmart. Brand was not an issue. Walmart lately has been losing focus on that service too so you see acome back in Kmart since they have more of that focus presently. Kmart will not necessarily ever take the position of Walmart but they will get stronger again. Compare Sears to years ago, then the 80s, and then improvement again in the 90s. Glenn
