The fact is that this is just another massive tax increase. I have stated this before, but look at how it works. The smokers (predominately poor) will end up funding this tax increase. At the same time the affluent are going to end up with the tax break. Primarily in the marriage penalty and the reduction of other taxes. It won't take long before the Democrats get called on this issue. When that happens, the "save the children" rhetoric will not save them come election time. Unless Tobacco goes along with this whole thing any bill is doomed. IMHO
