I think this TXN-Micron deal should be good for Cymer. According to the conference call, everything is going to be 0.21 shortly. Also, TXN's stuff which is currently mostly 0.28 is going to be moved to the Micron standard. After 0.21, the next step is 0.18, which is happening in 1999, I gather.

I read this as Micron upping the ante in the no-limit poker game. One expects a couple Koreans to consolidate, or perhaps a Taiwanese led rollup of some DRAM. All this should be good for CYMI because the cash infusion goes directly to sub-0.25 equipment. With Micron driving to 0.18, we are firmly in DUV territory.

Anyone know what type of equipment MU will use?
