I have to agree with many of your statements. I find that when catching up on the thread after being away from the computer, I can skip many posts because I can tell they are just hype.

I would bet that once a ticker is mentioned here for the first time most people take a look immediately, so yes, they do know how the stock is doing throughout the rest of the day without being told every up tick here on the thread.
