Russia is a hodgepodge of the ultimate in mixed up economies. How can you have a majority in the government who call themselves communists trying to lead the country to prosperity? After 70 years of institutionalized depression, you'd think they would have learned something. On the other hand looking over political scene here, I guess I shouldn't expect too much of them. Russia needs to export oil. It seems a conflict of interest to cozy up with any muslims. If they both want to export into a glut, they can't have similar objectives. The glut will disappear so maybe they want to open up coordination for the future.
