john....just looked at the asia markets, they look like there down somewhat. Maybe profit taking from the huge jump yesterday? Or could be that they were expecting the US market to be more positive today, but were disappointed. Truth is (imo), the yen support is only a superficial thing if Japan doesn't make serious changes. They say they will...but I'm not so sure. It just might not be possible for them to change that fast.... This weekend, I'll catch up on my reading as far as the new Asia developments. The market didn't react very strongly today (except for COMS), so I think it's reconsidering whether this Asia thing is going to be a fix or not. One thought I have: With Rubin's arrangement with Japan...maybe he's just trying to buy time for the other Asian countries, before what he may think is an inevitable fall of Japan. Maybe this will give China and HK more time to make preparations for the upcoming crisis in Asia. I don't know. I guess I'm just reflecting my skepticism that Japan will change. I think Japan only changes under EXTREME crisis and pressure. To me history shows this...like the 2 A-bombs dropped on it during WWII. When they're under those kinds of pressure, they come back great. I think COMS will be affected a lot tomorrow by the merger rumors. I expect it to test 27 1/2 based on this. If we break 27 1/2 there may actually be a pinch of truth to the merger stuff. good luck tomorrow!
