My guess is, Intel is realizing that A LOT OF consumers are looking at price alone.

Intel wants to make sure they don't move ahead of the general markets demand. For some, a 200 Mhz is fast enough and the only thing left is how much. $500 PC without monitor, I'll buy another one.

Pretty soon the price will be $400 with PC/monitor built in. Throw it away when done and buy another one. Just like a disposable camera?? Perhaps $350? Two or three computers in every house....
