My roots stem from England and Russia. You are right if you need to eat you will find a way. We have become very cognizant of the plight of others and also greedy. We go back to values again and to frequently ours are paper green which we do need however. I was born in Canada. Prior to the Unions in the railway system i was told of people who could not speak english who were giving half their pay to the foreman so they could keep the job. It was awful for them I relate this to the famers that work in the surroundings areas here I live in LA.
