"Whenever you hear someone important says strong buy in public, the stock will drop in the next few days."

This has been my observation also. The pattern is almost always the same. It appears as though the recommender has made its initial cut, makes the public statement, probably sells as the stock goes up again a bit and then the inevitable drop occurs.
