Insider buying is no panacia for picking stocks. Insiders are usually right about general trends. But even well informed board members can be dead wrong about the timing. They are just as vulnerable, if not more so, to "buying into the story" of the stock and ignoring negative trends. A strong buying trend does give investors greater confidence that the company is not trying to kite the stock up in order to sell off cheaply obtained options or some other common bait-and-switch game.

IDTI has had some insider buying and not that much selling. But the open market buying has not been by that many people to make it stand out as a real strong indicator. It's bullish but not a reason to buy the stock on it's own merits.

IDTI is at the bottom of its historical range during a period of a major tech sell-off. It also is "maybe this time" near the cusp of a major turn-around in it's product diversification strategy. What clouds that is that IDTI management remains at the low end of the "credibility factor". Nice story for WC 2 potential but can you believe that these guys have a handle on their business?

I think if they do just a mediocre job of executing this time around that the stock should move up from here but won't be a sterling performer. If management earns their keep they will do better than that and the stock will rally on higher sales and earnings before the end of the year. I own some stock at a bit over 9 and will buy more on any sign that the plan for the production ramp and product road-map on the WC 2 is meeting with some success.
