Also in Reuters today- ATT and BT-

AT&T and BT near Intl joint venture - BW

<NEW YORK, June 19 (Reuters) - AT&T (T - news) and British Telecom (quote from Yahoo! UK & Ireland: BT.L) are in talks to create a
joint venture involving their international assets, according to the June 29 edition of Business Week magazine.

According to sources at both companies, the magazine said they have now reached an agreement in principle to form a ''joint venture that
would include their international assets, with the goal of creating an operation to improve service for large multinationals.''

BT already has experience running an international telecom partnership through its share of Concert, a venture it ran with MCI
Communications Corp.(MCIC - news).

Any deal would have to wait until MCI (MCIC - news) and WorldCom Inc. (WCOM - news) consummate their merger agreement
allowing MCI to sell its 25 percent stake in Concert back to BT. >

The market cap on T is $102B, given I may have screwed up the exchange rate (1.6 pound/$ ?) I think BT is about $40B. Yikes. And they can't buy LU.
