Misery loves company:

Sequent Computer Systems Inc. said Thursday it expects to report second quarter earnings below analysts' expectations. As a result, it said it will initiate a stock buy-back and cut up to 250 jobs.

Sequent, which makes powerful computers that harness dozens of microprocessors, said it expects weaker results due to lighter than expected shipments to Boeing <BA.N> during the rest of fiscal year 1998 and weak economic conditions in Asia.
