Trust me, on paper CD is better, in reality, CD is also better!
Can you Tell me how you come to the conclusion that Nintendo publishers more profitable? AFAIK, the most profitable publishers are mostly PC/PSX (however, this may change soon).

Well, you are right that N64 titles selling better than PSX titles but this is due to 1 reasons: N64 is newer and not many titles out there, so N64 owners will desperately buy whatever available in the marketplace. But this will change when more publishers commit to N64. Check out ERTS.

Right now, CD or cartridge not really matter, it's all end up the marketing which play the major role. In the future, optical technology is the way to go because the inherent limitation of cartridge based design. I expect the Nintendo will soon use CD or DVD in its future console. It is even possible that future console will also serve as a DVD Player just like PSX as a VCD player today in Asian model!
