ed-- excellent post. you make a very good point toward the end about the cyclity of semis. i have played mu both short and long for a couple of years, and have done pretty well with it. thats the point...now is the time to buy, at least VLSI. as for MU, i cant believe TXN is giving away their memory business. i know it is probably more expensive to shut it down than to give it to MU, but not that much more expensive. if memory turns around mid 99, TXN is going to look very stupid. as for the knock on wood...my partner says you can just hit me on the head<G>.of course, she thought i was stupid buying puts on MU at 58 last year<G>. good luck to all, trey
