Chris,
I think the idea of tracking 5-10 stocks is great! I nominate DELL, LU, and WCOM. These companies really have their act together. They move up because they have great strategies and execute their plans very well. After major moves up, they correct somewhat because they got ahead of themselves. You can make money both ways.

chris, i like this idea. i am also working on reducing various companies. i.e. if u follow dell there is no need to follow cpq so u can limit to one company in one sector.

i like to trade companies (in ira) that i hold for long term in non ira. if u trade brand name companies u won't mind being an investor incase some thing goes wrong.
between csco and lu i prefer csco right now. for various reasons.

my picks : msft/ca, dell, csco, lu, pfe, wla, mrk.
don't have financial but like (trv/cci, mer)
retail: ? don't have any right now.
