Dave >>Pairgain (PAIR) is up today on an upgrade by Volpe Brown and also cited its potential as a takeover target, said analyst<< 08:59 ET Networking Stocks: Wall Street Journal reports that Ericsson not interested in acquiring giant networking companies such as Ascend and 3Com. However, says phone company is looking to purchase 10 smaller U.S. networking concerns, and is currently in talks with 3 of them. Hence, would expect smaller-cap names in group to be in play this morning, e.g. PAIR, SHVA, MRVC, FORE. Each of these stocks indicated slightly higher this morning.
