The performance over one week will do nothing to prove either of you are less defocused than the other - there is no need to act like moose in heat protecting egos. I suspect neither of you will invite the other to their birthday party anyway.

ORCL is still the biggest most competent supplier of DBMS in the wrold. The recent results indicate that they can weather storms and keep working on areas needing extra effort (apps). It is healthy to have other alternatives in the market as it keeps the competitive pressure on which keeps vendors on their toes.
Real competition for ORCL is in the ERP area and development of front office/supply chain applications. SAP, BAAN, and Peoplesoft are all making major initiatives in this area as it is the area where there is room for growth. The back office ERP systems ar already well stableized.
The market battle for raw DBMS is not so hot as it does not bring much in a new solution to a key mission critical problem. This is a battle where ORCL has already won.
Their future growth is dependant on their ability to beef up credibility and agility in the apps space which is why the focus is there.
The stock will still struggle until ORCL shows sustained revenue progress in apps.
IMFX has different challenges to be successful but that is not the subject of this thread.
