Competitive threat from a better technology is inherent in almost any hi-tech investment. Hence, Value Investors tend to avoid them. Even MSFT and INTC are constantly watching their back to see who might be gaining on them. My sense is that PAIR's management has an excellent record of being in the right place at the right time with products that are profitable. There is no way to guarantee they will continue to do so (look at what happened to AAPL and SGI). But, I think there is much more seasoning and maturity in PAIR's management than at many of the hi-tech companies that have lost their way in the past.
