Dave, OT:RE PlayStation.

Sony announced a price drop to $129 at E3, but not all retailers are honoring that new price. So, you'll want to find a retailer that is. They will be releasing a new version of PlayStation with the analog controller pack in on or around today for $149.

*OT* - Buying a Playstation

Dave,

To add to Henry's post, the $129 setup is no longer being manufactured as a package, so all that's left is what you see. The $149 package is now the only package being shipped by Sony. Also, your total cost will probably be higher since you'll probably want a second controller (for two-player games) and a memory card (to save your spot in games). Combined, that'll probably run you another $30 - $50 on top of whichever package you buy.

Regarding Dreamcast, it's a new console by Sega that's hitting Japan late this year and the US late next year (US timing is tentative right now). It will not be compatible with any other console system; in general, there is next to no intercompatibility between consoles. Also, just FYI, Sony has a Playstation 2 in the works for sometime after Dreamcast (will be incompatible with the current Playstation), but I think the current Playstation has at least 2 years of life left in it before you'll see any noticeable drop-off in the numbers of games being developed for it (IMHO).
